MS Dhoni has given a major update on his injury status amid the speculations over his IPL future.

The Chennai Super Kings Captain led his franchise into IPL victory in 2023. By winning the IPL, they thus equalled the record of Mumbai Indians as joint-most IPL victories with five titles each.

Throughout this year, there were speculation that this may well be Dhoni's final year wearing the Yellow Jersey of Chennai. But the former India Captain confirmed he will give another year before calling it shots.

Dhoni also underwent a knee injury just after the IPL, in an attempt to elongate his career. The former captain underwent the surgery in Mumbai. And in an event, he has opened up regarding the status of his injury at the moment.

Dhoni recently said in an event that his knee surgery was successful and the doctor has told the things will start getting in shape in the final months of this year. But he also confirmed he has no issues performing daily routine at the moment.

"Knee has survived the operation, going through the rehab patch, the doctor told me you would feel much better by November. But no problem in day-to-day routine," Dhoni was seen saying in an event.

The video of the event has gone viral and it has come as a major boost for the millions of Dhoni fans and Chennai Super Kings.

The 42-year-old is synonymous with Chennai Super Kings. He has confirmed that he will be with the Super Kings at any kind of capacity after his playing days. The former India captain is one of the greatest captains to don the Indian shirt, leading India to two World Cup victories.

In IPL, he has been a stalwart as well with five titles to his name. Dhoni also led India to 3 ICC white-ball tournament wins (T20 WC 2007, ODI WC 2011, Champions Trophy 2013), the only captain to do so in the history of the game.

Will Dhoni play in IPL 2024?

If everything falls according to order, there is no reason why Dhoni shouldn't play in the IPL 2024. The Chennai Super Kings captain looks set on his rehabilitation, and it is very likely that the CSK captain will be donning the yellow shirt in the next IPL.
