Will Pucovski retirement: Former Australian opener, who made his Test debut against India in 2021, has bid aideu to his career from all forms of cricket at the age of 27, due to his ongoing concussion-related issues.
Once fancied as the future of Australian batting after a stunning start to his first-class career, Pucovski's career, instead, has come to a premature end following a series of incidents where he was hit on the head, causing him concussions, during his career.

The latest episode of concussion happened in March 2024, when Pucovski was forced to retire hurt after a delivery hit him on the helmet during a Sheffield Shield match, sidelining him for the remainder of the Australian summer and led him to withdraw his contract with Leicestershire for the English summer.
Calling it a "humongous disappointment that is hard to deal with," Pucovski shared the news during an appearance on SEN radio in Melbourne, as per ESPNcricinfo. "I'm not going to be playing cricket again. It's been a really difficult year to put it as simply as possible.
"I'd need a few hours, I think, to take you through the whole journey ... but the simple message is I won't be playing cricket at any level again. There's been an illustrious group of one-Test players. Unfortunately, that's where my journey ends."
"It had always been my dream to play for Australia, I found myself in that position in 2021. My ambition didn't stop there. I wanted to be that guy that was a leader of the batting unit. I wanted to play 100 Tests," he noted. "Unfortunately, one Test is where it ends," he said.
Last year, a medical panel recommended the 27-year-old retire and now the batter has unfortunately cut short his career in the sport. In 36 first-class matches, Pucovski scored 2,350 runs at an average of 45.19, including seven centuries. In his sole Test appearance, against India at Sydney in the 2020/21 season, he made 62 and 10.
