Tickets for the knockout stages of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 have gone on sale, but venue allocations remain fluid and that has raised a practical question for fans: will ticket holders in India be refunded if Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals or final?
The short answer is yes.

The ICC has structured the knockout schedule with conditional venue shifts tied to Pakistan and Sri Lanka's qualification scenarios. The first semi-final on March 4 has been designated a "floating venue", meaning it can be staged either in Kolkata or at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo depending on which teams advance.
If Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals, they will play the first semi-final in Colombo on March 4. In that scenario, tickets purchased for the Kolkata fixture will be fully refunded.
Similarly, if Sri Lanka qualify and are drawn to face a team other than India in the first semi-final, that match will also move to Colombo. Kolkata ticket holders in that case will receive refunds.
The second semi-final, scheduled for March 5 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, remains fixed - unless an India-Pakistan clash is triggered in the bracket, in which case it would shift to Colombo under the hybrid arrangement agreed between the BCCI and PCB.
The final, currently slated for Ahmedabad on March 8, is also subject to change. If Pakistan reach the final, the summit clash will be moved to Colombo. Fans who purchased tickets for Ahmedabad would receive full refunds.
The ICC has confirmed that any tickets bought for venues that do not ultimately host the matches will be refunded in full, ensuring supporters are not financially impacted by venue relocations.
In essence, while the bracket remains in flux, buyers are protected. The only certainty in this stage of the tournament is that qualification will dictate geography - and the ICC has built refunds into the architecture of that uncertainty.
