Kolkata, November 24: Pankaj Shaw hogged the limelight scoring 400 runs in a Cricket Association of Bengal organized first division league two years ago.

But Pankaj, who is playing for Barisa Sporting Club, was fortunate to have received sudden call from the national selectors to join the Virat Kohli-led Indian team as the 12th man against Sri Lanka at the Eden gardens after Ishant Sharma had to join Delhi for his Ranji Trophy engagement.

Shaw, who made his first-class debut in 2015, was speechless after having shared dressing room with Indian team for five days in Kolkata.

"I still cannot forget Virat Kohli mimicking Harbhajan Singh. He was so friendly in the dressing room that sometimes I felt I have been with the Indian squad for long time! Kohli is a man who never discriminates anybody in the team. Otherwise he would not have bothered to ask me about my innings of that 400 runs, scored in a local league match two years ago," he said.

Pankaj is also ecstatic to have Kohli's helmet and a pair of shoes he wore in the series against New Zealand.

"Actually I requested Virat to present me one of his bats. He has promised me to send it through Wriddhiman Saha after the end of this ongoing series against Sri Lanka.”

Pankaj wants to forget his 400 runs innings. Now his one and only aim is to get back into the Bengal team.

"I had asked Kohli how to get back into the Bengal squad coming out of poor form. Virat advised not to think about any negative things. It will help me regain confidence."
