With Several Key Players to Miss IND vs BAN T20I Series, What Could Be India's Pace Attack?

IND vs BAN T20I: India's upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, starting October 7, will see several key players rested as part of the Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) workload management policy.

With 10 Test matches scheduled in the World Test Championship (WTC) and the ICC Champions Trophy on the horizon, India's focus remains on longer formats. As a result, key pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj will be rested, providing an opportunity for young bowlers to step up.

Additionally, Shubman Gill will also be rested and Rishabh Pant may also be on the list. These key players, pivotal to India's Test success, are likely to miss the T20I series to remain fresh for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh and New Zealand. Mohammad Shami is also still recovering from an injury.

This creates a need for replacements, with Arshdeep Singh and Khaleel Ahmed expected to be top contenders. Arshdeep, known for his consistency and death-over bowling, is primed to lead the attack, while Khaleel, with his left-arm pace, adds variety to India's bowling lineup.

In addition to these two, other names are also emerging as potential call-ups. One such player is Harshit Rana, who has impressed in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL) with his pace and ability to hit the deck hard. His selection would provide India with a young, aggressive option.

Hardik Pandya, a reliable all-rounder, might also be in the mix for the T20I series. Pandya's ability to bowl at a sharp pace and contribute with the bat makes him an ideal fit for the T20 format.

His inclusion could offer a balanced approach to India's pace attack, giving the team both a wicket-taking option and a reliable batting depth. With so many key players rested, these replacements will not only get valuable game time but could also be crucial to India's future pace strategies in this T20I series.
