'One of our...': How Rahul Dravid introduced Shubman Gill as Team India met Sir Garfield Sobers

Team India have already taken their voyage to the Caribbean and are in preparatory mode for the upcoming all-format series.

The Indian team are taking on West Indies in 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is - which starts from July 12 and will continue till August 13.

The Test matches will kickstart India's tour and the team has already reached Barbados and is set to play a practice match. The first Test will be played in Dominica, followed by the 2nd Test at Port of Spain in Trinidad.

But before their practice match, the Indian team had a special guest in attendance on Tuesday. During the practice, the Indian team had a visit of West Indies legend Sir Garfield Sobers, who came to the ground accompanied by his wife and had a meet with the visiting team.

BCCI shared a video of the Indian team players having a meet with Sobers and having a chat with the legend.

India captain Rohit Sharma was seen greeting Sobers and his wife, saying 'it was nice to meet you Sir.' Virat Kohli was also seen having a talk with Sobers and was in a light mood.

India coach Rahul Dravid introduced vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur with Sobers and then introduced Shubman Gill to the great Caribbean legend.

While introducing Gill, Rahul Dravid told Sobers that Gill is one of India's brightest young prospects.

"Shubman Gill, one of our most young, exciting batsman," Dravid said to Sobers while introducing the Punjab-born batter.

Gill has been in excellent form for India of late, especially in the limited-overs format. The young batter has scored 624 runs in just 9 ODI innings in this calendar year, and was excellent in the IPL as well for Gujarat Titans, where he amassed 890 runs.

Gill was touted to be one of India's key batters in the WTC Final, but had a disappointing outing where he could manage only 31 runs across two innings.
