Bengaluru, March 1: Sunday marked the 12 anniversary of the historic 98 that former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had scored against arch-rivals Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup in South Africa.

Considered one of the best knocks of the cricket World Cup, Tendulkar had blasted 98 off just 75 balls against a Pakistani bowling line-up that included the likes of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younus and Shoaib Akhtar.

The innings, although was curtailed by a lethal delivery from Akhtar, gave India their fourth consecutive victory over Pakistan in the World Cup. Tendulkar also won his second man of the match award against Pakistan in the World Cup, thanks to that innings.
He won his third man of the match award against Pakistan in the World Cup in 2011.
