Veteran off-spinner Nathan Lyon has teased his teammate Mitchell Starc ahead of the Women's T20 World Cup final between South Africa and Australia at the Newlands in Cape Town on Sunday.
In a video shared by cricket.com.au, Lyon can be seen interrupting Starc's good luck message for Australia Women, saying, "Go on Mrs Starc." He later called Mrs Starc" a "big match player".
Notably, Starc's wife Alyssa Healy is the wicketkeeper-batter of Australia Women and the leading run-scorer for his team in the tournament. She has scored 171 runs in four matches at an average of 57.
In the semi-final match against India, Healy was quick to dismantle the bails after India captain Harmanpreet Kaur's bat got stuck in the wicket. The dismissal of Harmanpreet helped Australia make a massive comeback and win the match by five runs.
“Yeah, she (Healy) likes the big games and been building nicely. So, everyone’s been going great, batters, bowlers, keepers. Sure, it’ll be a fantastic game and I look forward to watching and hopefully celebrating the girls’ success over here in India," Starc said after Lyon called Healy "a big match player".
“Shell, Meg and all the girls out there in South Africa, from us here in India, it’s been great to watch the tournament so far. You keep finding ways of winning even in positions you probably shouldn’t, so credit to you there. You keep winning these things. Good luck.
“I hope it’s another game and you lift, I guess, another trophy for you, the second three-peat for a few of you. So good luck girls. We’ll be watching on proudly.
“They keep finding ways to win. So, they’ve done that for close to ten years now, they keep finding ways. I think they’ve made every final of every T20 World Cup. I think that’s an incredible record, probably the best single sporting World Cup record of all time I think! So, what’s one more? May as well knock it off in the final, lift the trophy and celebrate well in South Africa," the gun pacer added.

Australia Women are the two-time Women's T20 World Cup defending champions. In the 2020 final against India, Healy had smashed 79 runs off just 39 balls to win the match by a massive 85-run margin. In last year's 50-over World Cup final, the 32-year-old scored 170 off 138 to power Australia to a 71-run win versus England.
