Women's T20 World Cup: Pakistan vs Ireland women's injury update
Pakistan women's T20 World Cup injury update, key players
Pakistan have no injury updates heading into the game yet and will have the likes of Bismah Maroof among their ranks in the crucial encounter. The skipper scored 55-ball 68* against a quality Indian bowling line-up in the last game.
Middle-order batter Ayesha Naseem played a credible knock as well as her 25-ball 43 took the pressure off the captain in the last game.
Pakistan's opening has been a concern as the likes of Sidra Ameen, Muneeba Ali and Javeria Khan have been shuffled at the top but the side is yet to find its opening combination.
All-rounder Aliya Riaz didn't get to bat in the last game but she scored runs in the warm-ups and is a back-up to Naseem down the order if the finisher fails. Spinner Nida Dar is a handy customer with the bat as well and entered the World Cup with five wickets in three games but failed to crack the code against India.
However, slow left-armer Nasra Sandhu has been the economical weapon for Pakistan in the middle overs and took two wickets against India as well. Spinner Sadia Iqbal has been doing a decent job of containing runs in the powerplay and has often struck wickets during the fielding restrictions.
Ireland women's T20 World Cup key players
Ireland opener Gaby Lewis has been scoring runs heading into the tournament and played a decent knock of 37-ball 36 in the first game against one of the best bowling outfits in the world, if not the best. Her partner Amy Hunter has played some good knocks as well but failed to score big in her last 10 innings. This includes three 40-odd innings.
The story is similar for Orla Prendergast, who has been consistently playing 25-plus innings and has scored 216 runs in her last 10 outings. Orla has been effective with the ball too as the new-ball pacer took three wickets in two games.
The team's captain Laura Delany hasn't scored a half-century in the last seven innings but did play decent innings heading into the tournament. However, she could only score 12 against England. To her added skillset, Delany is also the team's strike bowler but has failed to fire in the last two games.
There's some concern over the form of the Irish middle-order with the likes of Eimear Richardson and Louise Little failing to be among runs.
Among bowlers, young leg-break Cara Murray was the sole performer in the England loss with a spell of 3/15. The spell came at the right time for Murray, who was struggling to pick wickets in bulk prior to the World Cup.
