ICC has decided to move away the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup from Bangladesh amid the political unrest in the country.
The tournament, which was scheduled to be played in Bangladesh from October 3 to October 20, has now been shifted away from the country, which has been under turmoil for the past couple of months.

ICC announced on Tuesday tha the tournament is now going to be held in UAE. This decision emerged from the recent International Cricket Council (ICC) Board meeting held virtually on Tuesday. The tournament is planned for October 3 to 20.
During the meeting, board members expressed a consensus that current conditions in Bangladesh are unsuitable for hosting the event. Despite this shift, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will remain the official host of the tournament.
"It is a shame not to be hosting the Women's T20 World Cup in Bangladesh as we know the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) would have staged a memorable event," ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said in a statement on Tuesday.
The BCB has reportedly agreed to this relocation. The move aims to ensure the smooth conduct of the global event without compromising on safety and logistics.
10 teams are set to take part in the tournament, which was originally to be held across Dhaka and Sylhet in Bangladesh. Despite hosting the tournament, UAE won't take part in it as they didn't originally qualify for the tournament. The previous edition was hosted in South Africa in 2023 and Australia became the champions beating the hosts.
