The 13th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is set to return with much anticipation, as the ICC announced it on Monday (June 2).
Scheduled from September 30 to November 2, 2025, the prestigious 50-over tournament will be hosted across India and Sri Lanka, showcasing the growing reach and prominence of women’s cricket.

This edition will see eight of the world’s best teams - India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan compete for the ultimate prize in women’s ODI cricket. The tournament’s opening match is set for September 30 in Bengaluru, where hosts India will feature in a high-profile curtain-raiser.
The event marks the return of the Women’s ODI World Cup to Indian soil after a 12-year gap, last hosted in 2013.
The finalists will have a minimum of two days to prepare for the summit clash. Reigning champions Australia enter as favourites, having won a record seven World Cup titles, including their triumph in 2022 over England in New Zealand. With traditional powerhouses and emerging contenders in the fray, the tournament promises fierce competition and landmark moments.
The 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup is poised to be a celebration of the game’s growth, diversity, and competitive spirit, underscoring the rapid strides made in women’s cricket globally.
