The World Championship of Legends (WCL) will not be just a competition in fun and entertainment for retired professionals, rather the players will be putting their all to win, says Pakistan legend Shahid Afridi.
The WCL is set to be the newest Legends tournament which will be held in England. The tournament will be held in Edgbaston from July 3 and has already received approval from the England Cricket Board.

This event marks a significant moment, backed by the ECB, bringing together cricket legends from across the globe.
Teams from cricketing giants like England, Australia, West Indies, South Africa, India, and Pakistan will compete, making this a landmark event.
A special highlight is the participation of Team Pakistan Champions, under the leadership of Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi. Both legends bring a wealth of experience and charisma to the tournament and promise to deliver their best version for the fans.
"With the legends of the game converging, each match will be a spectacle of skill and strategy. We are poised to bring our A-game and leave an indelible mark on the WCL," Shahid Afridi said ahead of the tournament.
Younis Khan, former T20 World Cup-winning captain, echoed the same sentiment and said that passion and legacy will mingle as they take on the field.
"It's more than just cricket; it's about passion and legacy. We are here to compete and inspire fans across the globe," Younis Khan said.
The league's roster is full of who's who of cricket, featuring stars such as Brett Lee, Shaun Marsh, and Tim Paine from Australia; Indian legends Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, and Suresh Raina; South Africa's Jacques Kallis and Herschelle Gibbs; England's Ravi Bopara, Kevin Pietersen, and Ian Bell. From West Indies, Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy, and Samuel Badree will participate in the WCL for the inaugural season.
