Looking back at Bangladesh's WC performance in each World Cup since 1999 when they made their debut:

1999: Bangladesh, captained, by Aminul Islam had an ordinary World Cup till their last two games. Their maiden victory in the World Cup came against Scotland, who were also playing in their first World Cup. But Bangladesh had a memorable end to their World Cup campaign when they beat former champions Pakistan by 62 runs in their final group match.
Former skipper Akram Khan scored 42 while Khaled Mahmud took 3 for 31 runs and was adjudged the man of the match.

2003: A forgettable World Cup for Bangladesh as they lost all but one of their group matches, including the one against lowly placed Canada and Kenya, to end at of the table. Their match against the West Indies was cancelled because of the rain.

2007: Bangladesh's best World Cup so far. Captained by Habibul Bashar, Bangladesh stunned India by 5 wickets in their opening match and advanced to the Super Eight stage after beating debutants Bermuda. In the Super Eight stage, Bangladesh lost 5 of their 6 matches, including the one against debutants Ireland, but pulled off a surprising 67-run victory over South Africa.

2011: Led by Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh was expected to do well in this World cup played on their home soil but they disappointed their supporters by failing to win crunch matches. They beat Ireland, England and the Netherlands but lost to India, West Indies and South Africa. Getting bundled out for 58 against the Caribbeans in front of the home crowd was perhaps the Bangladeshis lowest point in this edition.
