Adelaide, Feb 15: Virat Kohli set up a new record as he scored the first century for India against Pakistan in a World Cup match. He bettered former batsman Sachin Tendulkar's score of 98 posted at Centurion in South Africa in 2003.

Virat Kohli also eclipsed Pakistan's Saeed Anwar (101) as the highest individual run scorer in a India-Pakistan match in the World Cup. Anwar had scored the century against India at Centurion in 2003 though it went into vain. Kohli was dismissed for 107 off 126 balls when he nicked one to wicket-keeper Umar Akmal off fast bowler Sohail Khan.
