World Cup: Virat Kohli has unfinished work against South Africa

Melbourne, Feb 19: India's vice-captain Virat Kohli has unfinished work against South Africa. And he will be hoping to get the job done in a crucial Pool B ICC World Cup 2015 match on Sunday (February 22).

Kohli has started off this World Cup in the same way as he did last time - a century in the opener.

Can Kohli score his 1st ton against South Africa?

In 2011, in his World Cup debut game, he hit 100 not out against Bangaldesh and India did not look back from there, going on to win the trophy.

Four years later, Kohli has done it again. He struck 107 against Pakistan last Sunday in Adelaide. India won by 76 runs. Will history repeat itself?

Now, Kohli and his team-mates have turned their focus towards the Proteas for the big game at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

In previous three World Cup meetings, India have failed to cross the South African hurdle. This time, they will be deseperate to alter that record.

For Kohli, he will be driven by a personal goal on Sunday. The right-hander from Delhi has stacked up 22 ODI hundreds, joint 4th with Sourav Ganguly in all-time list behind Sachin Tendulkar (49), Ricky Ponting (30) and Sanath Jayasuriya (28).

However, of these 22 centuries, there has been none against South Africa. So, the 26-year-old will be hoping he can do it at the iconic MCG.

So far in 13 matches against the Proteas, Kohli's best has been 87 not out in January 2011.

Come Sunday, Kohli will have this little milestone in his mind to achieve and help India end winless streak against South Africa in World Cups.

Will we see this celebration on Sunday?
