World Cup 2023: After Jos Buttler, Ex-Pakistan player voices concern on Dharamshala pitch

The outfield of the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala is under immense scrutiny now. The picturesque stadium at the lap of Dhauladhar range has gained a lot of negative attention in this ongoing ICC World Cup 2023.

England captain Jos Buttler raised questions on the outfield last week stating that the outfield was not good enough for international cricket.

"I think it's poor, in my own opinion. It's not as good as it could be or should be. Certainly if you feel like you're having to hold yourself back, it's not a place you want to be as a team or as a player or in a World Cup match," Buttler said.

ICC also had an inspection done on Sunday and now it has been deemed 'average', but good enough to play as today's match between England and Bangladesh is being played as planned.

And after Buttler's comments, the voices are coming from the other side of the fence. Mohammad Hafeez, the former Pakistan all-rounder, raised concerns on the Dharamshala outfield in a Pakistani World Cup show recently.

"The Dharamshala outfield has a huge question mark but no one questioned that. I think it is only necessary to ask questions (on the Dharamshala outfield) as it's not safe for the players," Hafeez said.

Despite Hafeez's 'concerns', ICC has deemed the Dharamshala outfield as safe for play and it looks like the beautiful stadium will witness a lot more World Cup action in the coming few weeks.

He also accused of poor organization for the World Cup 2023 and claimed the response from the crowd hasn't been up to the mark.

"So far I have seen poor organization and planning from the organizers. And another massive thing which I have noticed is that the response from the crowd is non-existent," he added.
