World Cup 2023: Astrologer Anirudh Kumar Mishra, who made the correct prediction of India winning the 2011 World Cup, has passed his verdict for the 13th edition of the ICC marquee event which began on Thursday, October 5.

Anirudh Kumar Mishra took to X and made the prediction but only before revealing that he was in no mood to make the prediction this time around but "heavy demand" from the cricket fans forced him to change his decision.

“Much before coming to Twitter, I predicted in 2011, about 1.5 months before the final of the Cricket World Cup that India would win the World Cup. Now again, I am being flooded with requests of predicting the winner of the upcoming world cup. Although I have made it clear that I will not be making any predictions for this world cup, due to the sake of so heavy demand, I decided to make an exception and predict the winner of the World Cup," he wrote.

"As per my calculations, India is going to win World Cup this time," further wrote on X making the big prediction.

Notably, Mishra has predicted India to win the T20 World Cup 2021 as well, however, the team failed to qualify even for the semi-finals. The Men in Blue haven't won any ICC trophy since the 2013 Champions Trophy.

India favourites to win World Cup 2023

The Indian cricket team is being touted as one of the favourites to win the home World Cup 2023. The last three editions of the tournament have been won by the respective host nations. India won the title in 2011, Australia hosted the event in 2015 and clinched the coveted trophy, before England stretched the trend in 2019.

“I know what’s at stake, and so do the team members, the guys who are part of this team also know what’s at stake,” India captain Rohit Sharma said at a captains' day event at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
