Amid the high intensity environment, several teams are also facing the challenge of losing their key their players to last moment injuries. World Cup 2023: India injury list

Axar Patel: The all-rounder was ruled out of the Asia Cup 2023 final due to left quadriceps strain sustained during India's Super Four match against Bangladesh on September 15. Washington Sundar was called as his backup.

Shreyas Iyer: The star middle-order batter made his comeback in Team India after a gap of almost six months. However, he last for just two matches in which he got to bat only once. Shreyas Iyer missed all the three matches in the Super Fours of Asia Cup 2023 back spasms. He is made good improvement but cloud cover remans over his fitness.

Naseem Shah: The 20-year-old pacer is on the cusp of getting ruled out of the World Cup 2023. An injury to his bowling shoulder forced him out of the match against India in the Super Fours of Asia Cup 2023. Initial scans have suggested that Naseem Shah could be out of action for 3-4 months.
