World Cup 2023: Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has left India and returned to Dhaka to train with his personal mentor Nazmul Abedeen Faheem. The rest of the players have arrived in Kolkata for their next match against Netherlands at the Eden Gardens on Saturday, October 28.
Bangladesh suffered a 149-run defeat against South Africa at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday. Shakib could score just one off four balls as Bangladesh innings collapsed during the mammoth 383-run chase.

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, Shaki Al Hasan went straight to the Shere Bangla National Stadium after arriving in Dhaka to work with Abedeen. The session lasted three hours and the veteran all-rounder mainly took throwdowns in the nets.
"He arrived today. We will be training for three days," Faheem told ESPNcricinfo. "Today, tomorrow and day after, and then he will return to Kolkata. We worked on his batting today."
"Shakib probably feels comfortable working this way. I am not sure what we are going to do next - I will take each session as he wants," he added.
The 36-year-old has struggled with the bat at the World Cup 2023, scoring just 56 runs in four innings. The left-arm spinner has taken six wickets but three of them came in his first outing of the tournament against Afghanistan - the only opposition Bangladesh have managed to beat so far.
Bangladesh have lost four matches on the bounce now and are reeling at the ninth spot in the ten-team World Cup 2023 points table.
Shakib Al Hasan had once left the IPL 2019 after being made to sit on the bench for four wickets. With a focus on the 2019 World Cup, he started to train with prominent local coach Mohammad Salahuddin on that occasion. He ended up scoring 606 runs and taking nine wickets at the 12th edition of the global event in England and Wales.
