ICC looks likely to continue with their pitch consultant Andy Atkinson ahead of the World Cup 2023 Final on Sunday.
The pitch controversy during the World Cup 2023 semifinal had some talking points. BCCI was accused of changing the pitch at the Wankhede Stadium for the semifinal between India and New Zealand.

Atkinson was the person who accused BCCI of changing the pitch, but then ICC clarified that there is no requirement to use a fresh pitch in a knockout match. Since then, the future of Atkinson's role has been in doubt as he offended the top brasses of BCCI.
Amid this, sources claim that Atkinson has already reached Ahmedabad on Friday and is set to inspect the pitch on Saturday.
"Andy hasn't gone back home. He has come with the ICC delegation and hence didn't come to the ground. He will be available tomorrow (Saturday) to check on the preparation of the track," a source from ICC told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
On Friday, two BCCI pitch officials along with BCCI's domestic general manager Abey Kuruvilla inspected the pitch side at the Narendra Modi stadium. The trio closely monitored the preparations of the pitch, although it is not confirmed whether a fresh deck will be used for the final.
