South Africa have made a superb start in the ICC World Cup 2023. And amid the excellent performance, one of the major contributors has been Quinton de Kock.
The wicketkeeper-batter has scored numerous runs and has already notched up three centuries in the tournament. His best of the lot came in the last match against Bangladesh where he scored 174 off just 140 balls.

Quinton de Kock is on his white-ball swansong in this World Cup. The 30-year-old announced to retire from ODIs after the World Cup. But in the form that he is at the moment, it will be a major blow for South Africa to lose him.
De Kock has already amassed 407 runs in the World Cup in 5 innings, averaging more than 81 with three centuries to his name.
The retirement decision has come as a surprise to many, but De Kock's South Africa teammate Heinrich Klaasen says it will be difficult to make the player a u-turn on his retirement plan, but hopes the player will make it a memorable one.
"It's going to be tough to convince him not to retire. He has been phenomenal for us and he has been great for South Africa over the years. It's sad to see him leave, but hopefully, he will leave on a good note. He has been brilliant for us in the tournament," Klaasen was quoted as saying to broadcasters Star Sports.
