Pakistan's World Cup 2023 hopes are in tatters at the moment. After a bright start, three damaging defeats have created a black cloud of uncertainty looming on their head.
Babar Azam and his troops are being put to the sword in Pakistan across media channels. Several ex-cricketers are trying to portray their vindication of the doubt they had already possessed in the Pakistan team ahead of the tournament.

Amid this, on a lighter note, a video has gone viral on social media. The video from Pakistan's match against Afghanistan shows Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Afridi talking at each other, and just behind them is Iftikhar Ahmed, who is also passionately talking.
At first look, it feels like Iftikhar is talking with one of his teammates who is not being shown in the frame. But when the camera zooms out, it is revealed that there is no one in the proximity of Iftikhar, and the player keeps on talking with his imaginary listener.
The video has baffled social media as fans asked the recipient of the Iftikhar words. And there is only little evidence to understand the situation. It perhaps was a ghost, or Iftkhar was just talking with himself or with one of his imaginary teammate.
Pakistan's disappointment in the World Cup continued with their defeat against Afghanistan, and Iftikhar blamed their poor fielding and stated that their spinners couldn't assert the effect on Indian pitches.
"Yes, the role of our spinners hasn't been that effective here. But we will keep trying to improve. That's all we can do," Iftikhar said.
"We made a lot of mistakes during our fielding, I admit. But, we need to improve; that's the only option we have for now. If you are playing against a world-class side, you have to perform at a similar level across departments. Only then you will be able to survive," he further added.
