World Cup 2023: Bangladesh registered a thumping seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka in their first warm-up match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Friday.
Bangladesh chased down a 264-run target in just 42 overs after a 131-run opening stand between Tanzid Hasan (84) and Litton Das (61). Later, Mehidy Hasan Miraz also chipped in with unbeaten 67 runs off 64 balls. Mushfiqur Rahim also remained unbeaten till the end, scoring 35 off 43 runs.

Tanzid Hasan smashed 10 fours and two sixes to make a sturdy 84 off 88 balls, while Litton Das hit 10 fours and played the role of the senior opener to perfection.
Earlier in the day, opting to bat Sri Lanka were bowled out for 263 in 49.1 overs with Pathum Nissanka and Dhananjaya de Silva scoring a fifty each.
Opening batter Nissanka added 104 for the first wicket with Kusal Perera (34) but despite getting a strong start, Sri Lanka's middle-order failed to capitalise.
Sri Lanka top-scorer Nissanka hit hit eight fours and a six en route to his 64-ball 68. It was Dhananjaya de Silva's 79-ball 55 while batting at six which took Sri Lanka to a repectable total.
