The ICC World Cup 2023 has so far seen twenty group-stage matches done and dusted. A total of 48 matches will be played and as we approach the halfway stage, things are looking interesting.
Hosts India have won four out of their first four matches along with New Zealand, while the defending champions England are currently in deep trouble having just won one of their four games.

There was much anticipation with the Pakistan team, and they have had a mixed campaign so far. After winning the first two matches, Babar Azam and his troops lost their next tour against India and Australia.
Their batting has so far disappointed in the last two matches, while bowling has also not been that good. But in the yesteryears, Pakistan were known for explosive batting, which has been lacking so far in this World Cup.
And when one dives deeper, one can understand why it has been the case. Pakistan, so far, till the end of Match 20, have hit the minimum number of sixes in the World Cup.
The hard-hitters have misfired as Pakistan have only accumulated 15 sixes in the first four matches, the lowest in the tournament so far.
South Africa have hit the most number of sixes so far in the World Cup with 40, followed by New Zealand (35) and India (28).
And when it comes to balls/six, Pakistan are also languishing at the bottom. It has taken 74.33 balls for Pakistani batters to hit one six, which is around 12 and a half overs per six. For the Proteas, the balls/six is just 29, and for India, it is 31.89.
Staggeringly England, who are known for their blitzkrieg batting, find themselves 6th in the list with 42.48 balls per six.
Pakistan's lack of aggressive batting has been a reason for their stumble in the last two matches, and they will have to find a solution soon.
