Pakistan were rattled by hard-hitting Mitchell Marsh on Friday in their ICC World Cup 2023 match in Bengaluru.
The Australian openers Mitchell Marsh and David Warner dismantled the Pakistani bowling on the day. The duo amassed a 259-run opening partnership in less than 34 overs.

Pakistani bowlers were thrashed and along with a crucial catch miss, it was a poor day in the field again for them.
Mitchell Marsh scored 121 runs off just 108 balls, hitting 10 fours and 9 mammoth sixes in his inning. It was excellent batting from Marsh, who is also celebratin his birthday today (Friday, October 20).
The Australian thus became only the second batter in history to score a century on his birthday in the World Cup. The Aussie was seemingly ecstatic with his effort as it was only his 2nd ODI century.
Apart from Marsh, the only player to have scored a hundred in World Cup on his birthday is New Zealand's Ross Taylor. And interestingly, Taylor scored his hundred in World Cup 2011 also against Pakistan!
The Kiwi player back then destroyed the Pakistani bowling on March 8, 2011 in Pallekele, on his 27th birthday. Taylor scored 131 off just 124 balls in that match and Pakistan lost the match by 110 runs.
Hence, in the history of World Cup, only two players have scored a three-figure score on his birthday, and both have come at the expense of Pakistan!
