World Cup 2023: Ravi Shastri had a hilarious response after reading a fan placard which suggested that the struggling England cricket team should hire an Indian coach. Notably, defending champions England failed to qualify for the World Cup 2023 semi-finals after managing to win just two of their eight league matches.
The fan held the placard during England’s last league match against Netherlands at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune. England won the match by 160 runs to register their second win of the tournament. The fan was seen holding an 'England need Indian coach' placard.

England's 2019 World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan, who was commenting alongside Ravi Shastri, asked for the views of the former India coach.
"Some interesting questions asked in the crowd. 'England need Indian coach', what do you think Ravi," Morgan asked.
"Haan humko bulao, hum sab ko hindi sikhaega. What I am trying to say is most welcome, I'll teach everyone Hindi, and some cricket as well. No problem”, Shastri quipped on-air as others in the room burst out laughing.
Ravi Shastri was the head coach of the Indian team from 2017 to 2021. Under his guidance managed to win the Test series in Australia twice. India qualified for the semi-finals of the World Cup 2019 under his watch.
England white-ball coach Matthew Mott is under immense pressure after England's disastrous campaign in the World Cup 2023. However, he has been backed by Morgan and Michael Vaughan to continue in the role.
“I definitely believe that Jos and Matthew Mott should continue in their roles, at least until the T20 World Cup in the USA and the Caribbean next June. This is a major challenge for Matthew Mott in English and international men’s cricket, and Jos has previous experience in similar situations. They are still building a strong relationship with each other,” Morgan recently told Sky Sports.
