ICC World Cup 2023: Sachin Tendulkar present at Narendra Modi Stadium as Cricket World Cup Global Ambassador - Watch

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was spotted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad ahead of the World Cup 2023 opener between England and New Zealand on Thursday.

The ICC World Cup has started and the 2019 Finalists England and New Zealand are playing the first match of the 2023 edition. Ahead of their match on Thursday, ICC conducted a small ceremony just before the start.

And India legend and Cricket's great Sachin Tendulkar was invited at the stadium as ICC World Cup Global Ambassador. Tendulkar was spotted alongside another India great Javagal Srinath, who is the match referee for the first match. The great man carried the World Cup Trophy and placed it at the middle.

As Tendulkar's name was announced, there was a huge cheer among the spectators at the stadium. Tendulkar posed with the World Cup trophy in front of him.

The great man has been part of six World Cup campaigns, and he lifted the trophy in his final World Cup in 2011. Sachin Tendulkar was announced as the Global Ambassador for the 2023 World Cup by ICC, and he will be present at many stadiums throughout the tournament.

The World Cup 2023 will be a 10-team event and it will continue till November 19. The first match is being played in Ahmedabad, and the Final will also be played at the same venue. India start their campaign on October 8 against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
