World Cup 2023: 'Sirf mohabbat hai'. 49th hundred kya...' - Mohammad Rizwan's heartwarming wish for Virat Kohli

World Cup 2023: Mohammad Rizwan has made a heartwarming wish for India batting maestro Virat Kohli who is on the cusp of breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record for most ODI hundreds. Kohli has 48 ODI hundreds to his name and would look to equal Tendulkar's tally of 49 hundreds against Sri Lanka on Thursday.

India will face South Africa on November 5 - the day when Virat Kohli will be celebrating his 35th birthday. Fans are hoping for Kohli to achieve the record-breaking hundred in the match which will be held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Pakistan team arrived in City of Joy for their match against Bangladesh on Tuesday, October 31. During their practice session, a fan in Sourav Ganguly Stand asked Rizwan if he has any wish for Kohli on his birthday match on Sunday.

“Brother, (Virat) Kohli will play here on his birthday (November 5, India vs South Africa). Do you have any wishes for him?” a man asked as quoted by Sportstar.

Rizwan was quick to respond in a fashion that won hearts of everyone present there. He expressed his adoration for Virat Kohli before praying for his 49th and 50th ODI hundred.

“ Sirf mohabbat hai. Inshallah, idhar unka 49th kya 50th hundred bhi ho jaaye (I only have love for him. God be willing, may he get both his 49th and 50th ODI century here),” Rizwan replied.

Virat Kohli fell short of his 49th hundred by five runs against New Zealand in Dharamsala. He was dismissed for a duck in India's last match against England in Lucknow on Sunday. Kohli is currently the sixth-highest run-scorer in the tournament. He has scored 354 runs in six matches at an average of 88.50.

India, who have won each of their first six matches, will face Sri Lanka at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday before flying to Kolkata for their second-last round robin stage match.
