World Cup 2023: Tickets for non-India matches sold out in cricket crazy Mumbai and Bengaluru

India is a cricket crazy nation and the fans in the country are proving it by showing equal level of excitement for non-India matches which will be played at the World Cup 2023 which kick starts from October 5.

Tickets for India matches being sold out even in a foreign country like Ireland is not a big deal - such is the following of the Indian cricket team which boasts of superstar cricketers of the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja.

However, the love of Indian fans for cricket is not restricted to their home team only. The upcoming World Cup has given them the opportunity to witness the 10 best teams in action and they are not taking it for granted.

Tickets for India matches will go on sale on Tuesday, August 29, but in the meantime fans have wasted no time in grabbing the tickets for non-India matches. Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai which is hosting four league stage matches including one between India and Sri Lanka - has seen tickets for the remaining three non-India matches being sold out in minutes.

Same is is the case in Bengaluru. M Chinnaswamy Stadium will be hosting five league stage matches including India versus Netherlands on November 12. Tickets for non-India matches are sold out at the venue. Eden Gardens in Kolkata also saw two of their three league stage matches sold out within minutes.

“The tickets for the three non-India games at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai – England vs South Africa on October 21, South Africa vs Bangladesh on October 24 and Australia versus Afghanistan on November 7 – were sold out in just 15 minutes,” said a source in the BCCI to the Times of India.

Early bookings of non-India matches have made it clear that grabbing tickets for India matches would be like winning a lottery of a million dollars. Ticket booking for non-India matches led to the crashing of the BookMyShow site. Some fans also complained of their device getting hanged while booking the tickets. Fans aware of the situation and that's why have shown equal interest in non-India matches to be part of the cricketing extravaganza which the ODI World Cup brings with itself.
