Former opener and member of India's World Cup-winning 2011 side, Virender Sehwag has predicted four teams who could qualify for the semi-finals of the World Cup 2023.
Sehwag has picked Australia and England as the two top teams in the competition because of their current forms. The Indian legend said their unconventional playing style would help them. He also added that Australia and England are two non Asian teams who play good cricket in sub-continent conditions.

Apart from these two teams, Sehwag also named India and Pakistan - the two Asian giants who are expected to make the most of the home conditions - as the other two semi-finalists of the World Cup 2023.
“If I have to pick four teams – Australia, England, India and Pakistan. These are the semi-finalists. Australia and England will surely be there because of the kind of cricket they are playing – they don’t play conventional shots, only unconventional – these 2 teams are pretty good at it. Also, England and Australia are the two away teams who can play better cricket in the sub-continent,” Virender Sehwag said.
The 10-team tournament is set to kick start in Ahmedabad on October 5 with defending champions England taking on New Zealand. India will kick off their campaign against Australia on October 8. Pakistan will lock horns against Netherlands on October 6 in Hyderabad. The India versus Pakistan marquee clash will take place on October 14 in Ahmedabad.
