India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has suffered an injury and limped off the field in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 match against Bangladesh.
India are up against the Bangla Tigers in Pune and the Bangladeshi captain Najmul Hossain Shanto opted to bat first after winning the toss. After four overs from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj, India captain called for Hardik Pandya to bowl.

After bowling the third delivery of his first over, Hardik Pandya felt some pain. The Indian all-rounder was struggling in pain and was wobbling in his run up. Soon the physio came into the field and got his ankle tapped. Pandya couldn't continue as he walked off the field.
Virat Kohli completed the Pandya over in the match. As for the latest reports, Hardik Pandya has injured his left ankle and has gone for scans, although we dont know the severity of his injury, there may be a chance that Pandya will miss the next few games for India, at least the next match.
If the injury is serious and Panda has to sit out for probably the tournament, then India may well have to find a replacement of the all rounder.
Ravichandran Ashwin can come into the team in place for Hardik Pandya and India can move forward with three spinners and three seamers including Shardul Thakur.
If the Indian team opts to add a bit of batting steel in the side, we may see the likes of Washington Sundar getting drafted into the squad for the remainder of the World Cup.
