Melbourne, Feb 24: When MS Dhoni captained India to a comprehensive 130-run victory over South Africa on Sunday (February 22) at ICC World Cup 2015, he matched former skipper Sourav Ganguly's record and is only way to surpass Kapil Dev.

The clinical performance at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in their second Pool B game, saw Dhoni notch 9th win as a World Cup captain in 11 matches.

This achievement equalled Ganguly's, who too captained India for 9 successes at World Cup in 11 clashes in edition. However, the most successful Indian captain at World Cup is Kapil with 11 from 15 matches in and tournaments.

Dhoni though has the highest winning percentage as India's World Cup captain with 86.36%. Ganguly is second with 81.81%.
