The inaugural Women's Premier League - WPL 2023 is all set to start with the league phase in Mumbai on Saturday (March 4) and will conclude with the final on March 26.
WPL 2023 will see five teams compete for the coveted title in double round-robin matches with the table topper at the end of the league stage earning a direct entry to the final.
The second and third placed teams, meanwhile, will play in the solitary eliminator to book the other final spot. The league stage takes place from March 4 to March 21, while the eliminator takes place on March 24 and the final on March 26.
A total of 22 matches will played over 23 days across two venues - Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Both the venues will host 11 matches each.
Mumbai Indians, Lucknow Warriorz, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be the five teams competing in the inaugural edition of the WPL.
The tournament will see top players from the Indian women's team as well as overseas teams take to the field. Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Alyssa Healy, Sophie Devine, Deepti Sharma, Ellyse Perry and Ash Gardner are among the cricketers that will play for different teams.

The matches start on 7:30 PM IST (2 PM GMT). On double-header days, the first match starts at 3:30 PM IST (10 AM GMT), while the second match starts at the usual time of 7:30 PM IST.
Who holds the Broadcast rights for WPL 2023?
