Mumbai Indians have won the inaugural Women's Premier League after beating Delhi Capitals in the final on Sunday (March 26) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
In a thrilling encounter, the Mumbai Indians managed to chase the target of 132 runs in the last over and clinched the title. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team won the match by 7 wickets and make history as the first-ever champions of WPL 2023.

Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning chose to bat and didn't have the best start. Issy Wong picked up three quick wickets and put the Capitals under the sword. Meg Lanning (35 off 29 balls), who ended up as the Orange Cup winner, played a decent knock but her run-out put the Capitals in deep trouble.
Hailey Matthews then ran through the middle order with three wickets as the Capitals were tottering at 79/9 after 16 overs and were staring at an early all-out.
But Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav added 52 runs in the last wicket, also at a brisk pace to take Delhi 131/9 at the end of their 20 overs. Radha Yadav scored 27 off 12 balls, while Shikha Pandey was unbeaten on 27 off 17 balls.
Mumbai Indians also had a stuttering start to their chase. Yastika Bhatia was picked up by Radha Yadav and the dangerous Hayley Matthews was also back in the hut quickly. But skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt stitched a crucial 72 runs for the 3rd wicket to rally them back in the chase.

Amelia Kerr came in and muscled some crucial runs while Nat Sciver-Brunt (56* off 54 balls) played a match-winning knock to take her side home at the grandest stage. Delhi Capitals put up a valiant effort but they faltered at the latter stages.
