India's much-anticipated women's cricket franchise tournament Women's Premier League is set to commence from Saturday (March 4).

In the historic event, Gujarat Giants will be locking horns against Mumbai Indians in the opening match of the tournament.

It will be a huge occasion for both teams as a new chapter in Indian cricket is being written. Mumbai Indians are led by India captain Harmanpreet Kaur, while Gujarat announced Australia batter Beth Mooney was appointed as Gujarat's captain.

There are some big names in both teams and it promises to be an exciting encounter in the WPL. The WPL 2023 has five teams in the first season. All the matches are being played across two venues in Mumbai and the final will be taking place on March 26.
