Delhi Capitals Women (DCW) toppled Mumbai Indians Women (MIW) from the five-team Women Premier League (WPL) 2023 table after thrashing the Harmanpreet-Kaur led side by nine wickets.
After opting to bowl first, Delhi Capitals first restricted Mumbai to 109/8 in 20 overs and then chased down the target in just nine overs.

Captain Meg Lanning scored unbeaten 32 runs off just 22 balls, while her opening partner Shafali Verma smashed 33 runs off just 15 balls. Alice Capsey also remained unbeaten at 38 off 17 balls. The 18-year-old England batter hit five sixes and a boundary.
Both Delhi and Mumbai have 10 points each from seven matches, but the former is ahead on the points table on the basis of a superior Net Run Rate (NRR).
Left with a match each, both the teams are looking to top the league stage to make direct entry into the final. The second and third-ranked teams will have to lock horns in the Eliminator on March 24 to book a berth in the final. DC, MI and UP Warriorz have already qualified for the play-offs.

Delhi Capitals batter Alice Capsey who scored five sixes and a boundary during his 17-ball stay for unbeaten 38 runs was given the Safari Powerful Striker of the Match Award.
Player of the Match
Delhi Capitals all-rounder Marizanne Kapp was adjudged Player of the Match for picking two wickets for just 13 runs in four overs. The pacer picked the wicket of Mumbai Indians opener Yastika Bhatia (1) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (0).
