WPL 2023: RCB international duo joins team in training, Smriti Mandhana to join soon

WPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Women's Team have reached in Mumbai and had their first training session on February 28. Who took part in the training? Which international players have already joined?

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Women's team got a major boost as star international cricketers Dane van Niekerk and Erin Burns have joined the Camp ahead of the much-awaited 2023 Women's Premier League.

The team had convened at the M Chinnaswamy stadium ahead of their arrival in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Head Coach Ben Sawyer, assistant head coach Malolan Rangarajan (WPL) and batting coach RX Murali and former Indian player and fielding coach of the team, Vanitha VR were present in the camp earlier today.

The team also welcomed former South African captain Dane van Niekerk and experienced campaigner Erin Burns of Australia to the training which provide a huge boost to the morale and is also a big opportunity for the young uncapped players like Shreyanka Patil and Disha Kasat to learn from the best in the business.

Dane van Niekerk, who was controversially left out of the South Africa squad for the recently concluded Women's T20 World Cup, was in a jovial mood as she had an eventful first day in the training.

Poonam Khemnar, Komal Zanzad, Indrani Roy, Kanika Ahuja, Preeti Bose and Asha Shobana also were part of the training.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will be welcoming their captain Smriti Mandhana soon. Mandhana, who took part in the Women's T20 World Cup, is set to join the camp within Thursday as they prepare for the inaugural WPL season. Sophie Devine, Ellyse Perry, Renuka Singh are also poised to join the camp soon.
