The inaugural Women's Premier League, which starts tomorrow (March 4), will open the doors to a lot of unearthed Indian talents.
As it aims to replicate the success of IPL, the WPL is set to become the conveyor belt to produce and provide a platform to talented women's cricketers across the country. But along with the domestic talents, there are some humongous overseas names in the tournament as well.
Today, our focus will be on the top overseas bowlers in the inaugural WPL, who can take the tournament by storm.

1. Shabnim Ismail (UP Warriorz)
Country: South Africa
WPL Auction Price: INR 1 crore
South Africa's pace queen Shabnim Ismail will be a massive player for UP Warriorz in the WPL. Ismail, known as one of the fiery pacers in the game, is in terrific form. She was the leading wicket-taker for the Proteas in the Women's T20 World Cup, and has been bowling brilliantly. Her ability to swing the ball couple with her pace can be a lethal weapon for the UP side going forward in the tournament.

Australia bowling all-rounder Jess Jonassen was another smart buy for Delhi Capitals in the WPL auction. Jonassen is an experienced campaigner with some rich numbers behind her in international cricket.
The 30-year-old has 91 T20I wickets to her name at an economy of 5.62, which is outstanding in T20s. A left-arm spinner by nature, Jonassen will be effective for the Capitals in Indian conditions. She can be the perfect foil to their Indian spin options and can play a pivotal part for DC in the WPL.

3. Megan Schutt (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
Country: Australia
WPL Auction Price: INR 40 Lakh
Royal Challengers Bangalore made a monumental coup when they got Megan Schutt for just 40 lakh in the auction, which is her base price. Schutt, one of the leading bowlers in women's cricket, was the last overseas player to be sold in the auction and RCB had the only vacant spot left.
Schutt is a fast bowler who is known for her accuracy and wicket-taking abilities. She has 124 T20I wickets to her name and has been spearheading the Australia attack for a long time. The 30-year-old picked up 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup and played a gigantic part in Australia's sixth World Cup glory.
RCB have a formidable squad, and Schutt can definitely be their leader in the bowling department. With vast experience and skill on her side, the Aussie pacer will definitely be among the bests in the tournament.
