Royal Challengers Bangalore registered their first victory of the Women's Premier League with a 5-wicket win over UP Warriorz on Wednesday (March 16).
A monumental batting disaster meant UP Warriorz were bundled out for just 135 runs. Ellyse Perry, the star of RCB-W picked up 3 wickets while Sophie Devine and Asha Shobana picked up a couple of wickets each. Grace Harris (46 off 32 balls) was the highest scorer for the Warriorz.
RCB had a poor start in reply as captain Smriti Mandhana continued her torrid form, departing without a score. Despite losing Mandhana and Sophie Devine early, their ship was steered by Heather Knight (24 off 21 balls) and Kanika Ahuja. Ahuja was the star with the bat for the Bangalore side as she played a fantastic knock of 46 runs to take RCB on the brink of their first victory. Richa Ghosh saw the chase through in the end and won it for RCB with more than two overs to spare.
