Royal Challengers Bangalore had a decent outing in the WPL 2024 auction on Saturday (December 9).
After releasing a decent number of players, RCB-W needed to fill the void and they had INR 3.35 crore in their kitty and had to buy seven players.

Similarly, the likes of Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz also had their war chest and specific squad slots in the auction. But during the event, RCB's business ploy was completely different from other teams.
In the auction which saw franchises going bonkers for players, RCB remained relatively modest in their pursuit of a player. On the day when other teams had at least a buy of 1 crore and beyond, RCB spent a maximum of INR 60 Lakh on a single player, which was on India veteran Ekta Bisht.
The other franchises were not that conserved as we saw aggressive bidding from them. Delhi Capitals spent INR 2 crore for Annabel Sutherland, whereas Gujarat Giants spent the same amount for uncapped India player Kashvee Gautam.
Mumbai Indians showcased their spending prowess on South Africa's former bowler Shabnim Ismail for 1.2 crore, and UP Warriorz also splashed 1.3 crore on another uncapped Indian player Vrinda Dinesh.
Despite having 3.35 crores in their kitty, RCB concluded their business for just INR 2.3 crore and have saved more than 1 crore in their bank. In terms of the signings, part from Ekta Bisht, all of RCB Women's signings came at their base price.
| Player Name | Age | Country | Role | Base Price | Sold Price |
| Georgia Wareham | 24 | Australia | All-Rounder | 40 Lakh | 40 Lakh |
| Kate Cross | 32 | England | Bowler | 30 Lakh | 30 Lakh |
| Ekta Bisht | 37 | India | Bowler | 30 Lakh | 60 Lakh |
| Shubha Satheesh | 24 | India | All-Rounder | 10 Lakh | 10 Lakh |
| Sabbhineni Meghana | 27 | India | All-Rounder | 30 Lakh | 30 Lakh |
| Simran Bahadur | 24 | India | Bowler | 30 Lakh | 30 Lakh |
| Sophie Molineux | 26 | Australia | All-Rounder | 30 Lakh | 30 Lakh |
RCB are generally known for their flamboyance on the auction table as we have seen over the years. It was a surprise to see them not taking an aggressive approach at the auction table, but probably we will see them going all guns blazing in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction.
