The Women's Premier League (WPL) Season 2 is likely to have two venues, as BCCI is interested in making it a two-city event for the upcoming season.
The inaugural WPL in 2023 was held in Mumbai, but the apex body of Indian cricket has reportedly pencilled two host cities for the tournament. Intending to build on the success of the inaugural season, the BCCI has made strategic decisions regarding the upcoming tournament's schedule and venues.

The BCCI has identified Bengaluru and Delhi as the two cities to host the event. The plan is to divide the tournament into two halves, with Bengaluru rolling out the welcome mat for the first phase and Delhi lighting up the stage for the second, including the knockout rounds and Final. Such a split not only promises diverse cricketing action for fans but also helps maintain the quality of the pitches for the IPL which is set to start on March 22.
Though the initial season was confined to Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, the BCCI's decision to move to a dual-venue format for the WPL's second year marks a departure from their earlier stance. As noted by BCCI secretary Jay Shah, hosting the league in one state could have streamlined logistical operations. Nonetheless, after thoughtful consideration, the BCCI has favoured the two-city approach for the upcoming season.
The WPL 2023 saw Mumbai Indians women's triumph after beating Delhi Capitals women in the Final.
BCCI has also set an initial date for the upcoming WPL season, with the tournament is likely to start on February 22. The tournament is likely to continue till mid-March with the Final tentatively scheduled on March 17.
