M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, established by the patronage of Government of Karnataka in 1969, will host the first phase of the second edition of the Women’s Premier League – WPL 2024, starting from Friday (February 23).
The M Chinnaswamy Stadium has served as home venues to Karnataka state teams, the Indian cricket team and since 2008, when Indian Premier League (IPL) started as a home to the Bengaluru-based franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore men’s team.

And for the first time the venue will be home to the women’s side as BCCI has announced the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as one of the venues along with Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi as hosts of WPL 2024.
KSCA stadium in Bengaluru will host 11 matches this season from February 17 to March 4 with last season’s finalists playing the opener. RCB will open their campaign against UP Warriorz in match 2 on Saturday (February 24).
The reverse fixture between RCB and UPW will be the final league match at the venue. Now, we take a look at the Bengaluru M Chinnaswamy Stadium information, women's T20 and IPL records at the venue ahead of WPL 2024:
Known to be batting friendly in the limited overs format thanks to the flat wickets and the small ground dimension, making it a batter's paradise and a bowler's nightmare. But with black soil being used for the wickets recently, there has been a mixture of high-scoring and low-scoring games at the venue.
Heading into the Indian summer, the day will see the temperature rising up from 33°C to 36°C during the next fortnight in Bengaluru, but is expected to get cooler in the nights with temperature reducing as low as 18°C to 20°C. There is no threat of rain on any day, but dew may be an issue.
