It is quite obvious that the batters are expected to take the bowling attack to the cleaners, especially in the shortest format. However, it is imperative for the bowlers to chip in with different bowling variations to give the batsmen a run for their money.

In this article, we will now go through the names of the five bowlers who can have a good season.

Sophie Ecclestone: The England international Sophie Ecclestone is one of the bowlers to watch out for in WPL 2024. Plying her trade for UP Warriorz, the 24-year-old carved out a reputation for herself as one of the productive spinners last season, accounting for 16 dismissals, the joint-most by a bowler. The left-arm orthodox spinner maintained an economy of 6.61 and a bowling average of 14.68.

Issy Wong: England's emerging talent burst onto the scene, courtesy of her fast bowling capabilities. She added a great dimension to Mumbai Indians' bowling attack wherein she took 15 wickets in 10 appearances. Apart from using weapons such as pace and bounce, she has deceived the batswomen with slower deliveries and yorkers, making her an unpredictable asset.

Saika Ishaque: Saika Ishaque who operates as a slow left-arm orthodox bowler for Mumbai Indians is known for delivering impactful bowling performances, courtesy of her potential to take important wickets in crucial stages of the game. She was one of the top performers in WPL 2023 season, wherein she took 15 wickets in 10 games at an average of 16.

Jess Jonassen: Jess Jonassen is one of the bowlers who is expected to have a cracking season this time around. The Australian international who operates as a left-arm orthodox spinner is pretty good at containing runs, while also having the knack for taking key wickets. The 31-year-old who plays for Delhi Capitals took 9 wickets in as many appearances in the last season.

Tara Norris: Tara Norris who represents the U.S.A cricket team in international cricket plays for Delhi Capitals in Women’s Premier League. The left-arm medium has developed a repertoire of bowling variations such as slower deliveries, bouncers and yorkers in recent years and will be looking forward to doing well in WPL 2024.
