WPL 2025 Auction: With the retention deadline and the Indian Premier League (IPL) out of the way, the attention now switches to the Women’s Premier League 2025 Mini Auction, where all 5 teams will look to add to their squads for the upcoming season.
A total of 19 slots, including five for overseas players, will be up for grabs during the bidding process where each of the five franchises have been handed a total budget of Rs 15 crore, a Rs 1.5 Crore more than the Rs 13.5 crore from last year, to build their squads.

While franchises have been handed a bigger purse, all teams head into the auction with a different amounts remaining in their purse following the retention of players from their respective 2024 squads.
On the retention deadline day (November 7), a total of 71 players, including 25 overseas stars, were retained across the five teams with very little left to do for the franchises during the mini auction. Here is a look at the retained players list:

Gujarat Giants 2025 Retained Players List: Ashleigh Gardner, Beth Mooney, Bharti Fulmali, Dayalan Hemalatha, Harleen Deol, Kashvee Gautam, Laura Wolvaardt, Mannat Kashyap, Meghna Singh, Phoebe Litchfield, Priya Mishra, Sayali Satghare, Shabnam Shakil, and Tanuja Kanwer.

UP Warriorz 2025 Retained Players List: Alyssa Healy, Anjali Sarvani, Chamari Athapaththu, Deepti Sharma, Gouher Sultana, Grace Harris, Kiran Navgire, Poonam Khemnar, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Saima Thakor, Shweta Sehrawat, Sophie Ecclestone, Tahlia McGrath*, Uma Chetry, and Vrinda Dinesh.
Following the above retentions, teams will have very less slots to fill with a good purse. Gujarat Giants have the biggest purse and will be the most busiest team at the mini auction.
Despite releasing the fewest number of players, UP Warriorz head into the auction with the second biggest remaining purse followed by RCB, MI and DC. Here is a look at the remaining purse and slots of all teams:

WPL Auction 2025 Possible Date and Venue: The next WPL Mini Auction will be a one-day event. As per recent reports, the bidding process will be held next month in India. According a report in ESPN Cricinfo, the WPL 2025 Auction will be held in Bengaluru on Sunday, December 15.
