The third edition of Women's Premier League – WPL 2025 is down to two teams as Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Capitals in the title clash at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday (March 15).
Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals, who finished on top of the WPL standings, earned a direct entry to the final, while Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians had to get past Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator to book their spot in the summit clash.

As the two sides prepare to clash for the title in season 3 of WPL, here is a look at their previous record and their final appearances in the Women's Premier League so far, starting with the stats from the earlier final matches:
Delhi Capitals has never won the Women's Premier League despite reaching the final in both the previous editions as table toppers like this season. DC-W settled for runners up finish in seasons 1 and 2.
The Capitals first lost the title in 2023 losing the final against Mumbai Indians before a repeat of the failure last year in 2024, when Royal Challengers Bengaluru got the better of them in the title clash.
DC as a franchise in fact has not managed to win a title even in the men’s competition – Indian Premier League (IPL) where the Delhi-based team has reached the final only once in 2020, when they lost to Mumbai Indians./p>
Mumbai Indians has won the Women's Premier League once so far, having beaten the Delhi Capitals in their only previous final appearance in the short WPL history. MI as a franchise are known as serial trophy winners, winning T20 franchise leagues across the world.
