Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee (BRSABV) Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, established in 2017, will host the third phase of the third edition of the Women’s Premier League – WPL 2025, starting from Monday (March 3).
The Ekana Stadium has served as home venues to Uttar Pradesh state teams, the Indian cricket team and since 2023, when Indian Premier League (IPL) made it’s debut at the venue as a home to the Lucknow-based franchise Lucknow Super Giants.

And now for the first time the venue will be home to the Women’s Premier League side UP Warriorz as BCCI has announced the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow as one of the venues for WPL 2025.
BRSABV Ekana stadium in Lucknow will host 4 matches in WPL this season from March 3 to March 8 with the home side UP Warriorz taking on Gujarat Giants in the first match.
The venue will then pit the home side against Mumbai Indians, GG in the reverse fixture before a meeting with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final fixture. Here is a look at the Lucknow Ekana Stadium records and stats ahead of WPL 2025:
Unlike other venues, where pitches have often been regarded as batter’s paradise, the wickets at the Ekana are known to assist bowling, especially the slower or spin bowlers. Last season there were mixed results during IPL. So, it will be interesting to see how the wicket plays out in 2025.
Heading into the Indian summer, the day will see the temperature hover around 26°C to 30°C during the next ten days in Lucknow, but is expected to get cooler in the nights with temperature reducing as low as 13°C to 16°C. There is no threat of rain on any day, but dew may be an issue.
