WPL 2025: Nat Sciver-Brunt Scripts History, Becomes First Batter To Achieve THIS Huge Feat

Mumbai Indians' star all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt etched her name into the record books by becoming the first player to surpass 400 runs in a single edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL).

She achieved this remarkable feat during MI's clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Brabourne Stadium on Tuesday (March 11).

WPL 2025

The English international played a sensational knock of 69 off just 35 deliveries, smashing nine boundaries and two sixes in the process. With this performance, she solidified her position as the current Orange Cap leader in WPL 2025, amassing a total of 416 runs so far.

Before this season, the record for most runs in a single WPL edition was held by RCB and Australia star Ellyse Perry, who scored 347 runs in WPL 2024. However, the 2025 edition has seen this record shattered twice-first by Perry herself, who has now scored 372 runs, and then by Sciver-Brunt, who has set a whole new benchmark.

Despite their strong campaign, Mumbai Indians missed out on a direct spot in the WPL 2025 final for the third consecutive year. They will now face Gujarat Giants in the Eliminator on March 13 in Mumbai, with the winner earning the right to challenge Delhi Capitals (DC) in the summit clash on March 15.

For the third straight season, DC topped the league table and booked a direct place in the final. After finishing as runners-up in both WPL 2023 and WPL 2024, Meg Lanning's team will be eager to finally claim their maiden WPL title. DC lost to MI by seven wickets in the inaugural WPL final and fell short against RCB by eight wickets last year.

As the tournament heads into the knockout stage, all eyes will be on Sciver-Brunt and Perry, both in top form, as they look to guide their teams to glory in WPL 2025.
