WPL 2027 Auction: Sneh Rana Embarks on a Fresh Chapter with UP Warriorz After Representing GG, RCB & DC
When the hammer came down at ₹30 lakh during the TATA WPL 2027 Auction, it marked more than just a routine squad addition for UP Warriorz. In securing seasoned Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana, the franchise injected pedigree, lower-order grit, and tactical depth into an ambitious setup hungry for a turnaround. For Rana, donning the yellow jersey is an invigorating challenge she intends to meet with trademark resolve.
Speaking on JioStar's 'Match Centre Live Auction Special' after being picked, an elated Rana expressed her gratitude to the team management.

"First of all, I want to thank UP Warriorz for picking me. I'm very excited about this opportunity," she told JioStar. "And as I always say, whenever I get an opportunity, whichever team I go to, I want to give my best for them. Now that I've joined UP Warriorz, I want to do the same. Thank you so much to everyone in the management."
Tactically, Rana's arrival crafts one of the most formidable spin webs in franchise cricket. Joining forces with the world's premier left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone and international teammate Deepti Sharma, Rana will spearhead a middle-overs squeeze capable of dictating matches on subcontinent surfaces. The existing telepathy with Deepti is sure to prove a major asset for the Warriorz who languished at the bottom of the table.
"It's a very [strong] spin bowling unit, and Sophie Ecclestone and Deepti Sharma will be bowling with me," Rana noted on JioStar. "I've always played with Deepti, so I know her strengths, and there will be good communication between us. It's going to be a lot of fun."
Equally compelling is the opportunity to operate under Meg Lanning's shrewd leadership. Long admired as one of the game's finest tacticians, Lanning's acute game awareness promises to extract the best out of Rana's craft.
"I'm very excited. I've always watched her on TV, and even now, seeing her lead UP Warriorz feels really good," Rana shared with JioStar. "Watching her captaincy and the changes she makes is great. So, I'm very excited to play under her."
With seasoned champions aligning and a multi-dimensional spin arsenal locked in, Rana's new chapter could provide the decisive edge the Warriorz need when the action kicks off this January.
