WPL Auction 2023: Gujarat Giants Full Squad, Players List with Price in the Auction

With the Women's Super League (WPL) auction set to take place for the inaugural season, Gujarat Giants have formed a decent squad in the WPL with a fruitful session at the auction table.

The Gujarat Giants are one of the two new franchises in the WPL that don't have a men's IPL team, and they will be aiming to construct a decent squad ahead of the first season.

A total of 409 players registered for the auction, 246 of them are Indians, along with 163 overseas players. There are 202 capped players and 199 uncapped players. A total of 8 players from the associate nations went under the hammer.

Each team's salary cap for the first WPL season is INR 12 crore. BCCI will also allow 5 overseas players in the starting XI, provided one of those players is from the associate country.

Gujarat Giants got their first acquisition with a big buy of Australia all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner for a massive INR 3.2 crore. They also managed to buy Beth Mooney and Sophia Dunkley, while also signing the first West Indies player Deandra Dottin.

The Giants also spent 50 Lakh on Tanuja Kanwar as she became the most expensive uncapped player in the auction. Sushma Verma, Ashwani Kumari are two other Indian signings that they made at the flag end of the auction.

16-year-old youngster Hurley Gala was the youngest player picked in the IPL auction.

Gujarat Giants Purse Used:

Gujarat Giants spent INR 11.95 crore of their salary cap and were only left with INR 5 Lakh at the end of the auction.
