WPL Auction 2023: UP Warriorz Full Squad, Players List with Price in the Auction

The Women's Premier League (WPL) auction is taking place on Monday (February 13) as 5 teams fight it out in the auction table to build the best possible squad ahead of the tournament.

Lucknow-based UP Warriorz are among the five teams and the Capri Global-owned franchise have formed a strong team in the WPL auction. They have already appointed Jon Lewis as the head coach for the inaugural season.

A total of 409 players registered for the auction, 246 of them are Indians, along with 163 overseas players. There are 202 capped players and 199 uncapped players. A total of 8 players from the associate nations are also set to go under the hammer.

Each team's salary cap for the first WPL season is INR 12 crore. BCCI will also allow 5 overseas players in the starting XI, provided one of those players is from the associate country.

UP Warriorz signed Sophie Ecclestone to start their spending spree. Then they managed to get Deepti Sharma from the grasp of Mumbai Indians for a massive 2.6 crore. India's spinning duo Anjali Sarvani and Rajeshwari Gayakwad will also be playing for the Warriorz in the inaugural season of WPL.

Talented bowler Parshavi Chopra, who was part of India's U19 World Cup-winning team, was bought by the UP franchise. Shweta Sehrawat, another key performer in India's U19 T20 World Cup winning team was scalped for 40 Lakh as UP have invested in the future talents of Indian women's cricket.
